Georgia Hardinge Sample Sale

Yesterday I went to Georgia Hardinge‘s first sample sale in Hackney. This was probably the best sample sale I’ve ever been to in terms of the atmosphere; usually you have to shop with a bunch of people glaring at you and the designer either hovers in the background judging you or simply is not present. Georgia, on the other hand, greeted everyone who came in and cheerfully showed them all her wonderful pieces. (Also, there were cupcakes!!!)

Here is what I got;

I’m sort of dying over this jacket but it wasn’t at the sale! Check out the rest of her collections on her website.

Random Photos from LFW

London Fashion Week is over :( Time to catch up on sleep and sort through photos!

“Fashion trend inspired” cocktails at the Trafalger Hotel. Shouldn’t cocktails always come with nail polish?

Male models were passing out Snog frozen yogurt at Vauxhall…awesome.

Glam Media/Rimmel London had an awesome hotel room set up for bloggers and press to chill out, have some champagne, and untangle uncooperative XLR cables like I’m doing here;

Shooting interviews with Lewis and feeling very short.

Some of the 1883 Team; Me with Lewis and then me with Lucy (more here);

Be sure and watch the videos we made throughout fashion week! 1883 Digital

Disposable

Boots keeps having these two-for-one deals on Kodak Funsavers, those cheap disposable cameras that always seem to come out with the most spontaneous, crappy, awesome pictures. I bought a bunch of them and I’ve been carrying them around in my purse for a few weeks now, so here are some highlights.

London has been super sunny! It was short lived as its freezing today but it was nice to see the sun for once. You can’t tell here but the sky was actually blue.

I bought a that JCDC bag I was obsessing over…it was 50% so I had to.

Liberty had a CRAZY shoe sale, rows and rows of discounted designer shoes. I still couldn’t afford anything but I was tempted by the teel patent Pradas.

Amazing coffee. And amazing cocktails at this all you can eat sushi place. Green tea mojitos…yesss.

At school with my friend Pennie, and enjoying a rum jug in Brick Lane with Una.

Kenzooooo

Today I went to my first ever fashion show, Kenzo menswear in Paris. It was such an amazing experience…I’ll post more about the collection later because right now I’m a bit starstruck. I got to meet the amazing fashion blogger BryanBoy, who we interviewed for our new Cohesive TV show, Chic Equipe. Check out my blog for Chic Equipe here for more about Kenzo and what I’ve been working on lately!

My dress is by Cop-Copine and the jacket is H&M.

Pins and Crosses Part Two

Here is the (almost) completed DIY safety pin shirt I mentioned here and here. It was a bit big so I cut the sleeves and pinned the shoulders as well. Apologies for the graininess.

Here you can see a close-up of the shoulder;

Occasionally some belly button peaks through;

Good Things

Good things come when you least expect them. I spent days hunting for shoes after my creepers broke, but to no avail…and then I randomly saw these on my way to Lush. They are the cutest shoes in the whole wide world and they are mine now :)

They  are leopard! And fuzzy! And comfy! I stood in front of the display for about twenty minutes trying to decide which print to go with, they had zebra, lace print and little stars, but these ones just seeemed right.

Souvenirs

The Lace Museum had a great little gift shop full of lacy things, including this rad black bolero I got as a souvenir. I think it looks awesome worn over tattoos…you can sort of see the ink peeking through.

Tied Eye

This weeks top five, in photo blog form.

Chanel Particulière and tie-dye. I’ve been rocking a lot of tie-dye lately as a tribute to my hometown…I’ve been missing the San Francisco Bay. Also, I totally have grandpa hands.

This is an “Emma’s eye view” of my creeper shoes which I will continue to wear despite my fellow fashion blogger Elle’s protests and threats to burn them if I don’t start wearing something else.

Also sporting my new purse from Zara’s fancier collection. I’ve been looking for a new bag for ages, and I was pleased to find that it was real leather.

Here of course is the little camera necklace I’ve been obsessing over.

Camden reminds me of Haight Ashbury, so of course I feel at home there, despite the overabundance of confused tourists.

Last but not least, my new Alexander McQueen scarf that I got as a graduation present :) I think its been making me lose weight as I wear it all the time and refuse to take it off or eat in it, lest I get croissant crumbs on it. Bonus?

I can just hear Tyra Banks yelling “There’s no life in your eyes! Smile with your eyes honey!” about this photo but she can suck it because I’m not a model. The scarf can speak for itself.

:)

Grumpy Bunny

I was kind of grumpy and under-caffeinated at work today, but fortunatley I had on my favorite BC Footwear bunny wedges to keep a bounce in my step. I remember when these shoes came out, every fashion blog was bashing them, but they still sold out in like ten seconds! I had to scrounge them on ebay.

What do you think, ridiculous or awesome? I love them because they serve as a “sense of humor” test. If I can wear these for a job interview and get hired, then I know my boss is awesome.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy Independence Day! This is the first time I’ve been in the US for 4th of July is a super long time so I’m actually celebrating for once! The themed item for today is American flag sequin fanny packs. Tacky, flashy, ridiculous,  and totally American. These can be found at the Patricia Fields online store, as well as other fun colors and patterns.

I am celebrating by playing in a Fourth of July concert with my college brass/wind band, and spending time with my family of course. I wore a blue and white dress from BCBG with red tights and black oxford wedges.
