It’s been a weird couple months weather-wise in London, (isn’t it always?), so I think I’ve spent more time than usual hiding from the rain and lusting over Spring-ey fashion online. I’m particularly digging these floral A-Morir glasses…I usually find the brand a bit too Lady Gaga for me but these are pretty and not overly-obnoxious. (I think there’s a big difference between a statement piece and a LOOK AT ME!!!! screaming piece).

The price, however, is not so kind. Those second ones are $400…I may have to DIY a pair.

I know I’ll never be bored of creepers because I started wearing them almost 5 years ago and I’ve bought a new pair of the exact same ones each year since. My collection has significantly expanded since they came into fashion and all kinds of exciting designs are popping up everywhere. These 3939 x Underground creepers are amazing; available in blue or black, they feature leopard tabs, a zipper accent and “love” and “hate” studded onto the back.

No word yet on how much they cost or when they will be available :/ Crossing my fingers they aren’t 200quid….

This great video demystifies Chanel‘s classic little black jacket, showing it made from scratch in the workroom, from pattern to final jacket. I’m surprised Chanel was ok with this video to be honest, its a bit like airing one’s dirty laundry, showing a very expensive luxury garment being sewed on an industrial machine like other garments are made. But it’s nice to be reminded that luxury clothes aren’t woven from unicorn hair, sprinkled with fairy dust and made by elusive couture elves. Watch below;

I didn’t want to like Charlotte Free what with the whole dyed hair trend being really overplayed in fashion, but I guess I caught the fever. She’s great in this fashion film, which also has really cool sound design. Watch the film by Brian Kazez below.

Models Be Lookin Bitchy in Prada

Steven Meisel has yet again shot Prada‘s video campaign – this time for the 50′s-inspired Spring 2012 collection. Although Meisel follows his same (winning?) formula of weird music, slow-motion contrasted with rapid cutting, and lots of closeups on accessories, I’m not bored yet. This one is much more cinematic than his past campaigns, with a hint of a story this time around. Shot in a gas station with lots of shiny vintage cars to match their shiny vintage-style sunglasses, models give each other bad vibes, fix their makeup, and pose by their cars intimidatingly. As we girls do.

New Year’s Resolutions

2012 is sort of a whole new beginning for me because, for the first time since I was 5 years old, I am not a student. It’s a weird feeling, let me tell you. In the spirit of new beginnings, I want to change my shopping habits to fit a “less is more” mentality. I don’t need ten million t-shirts, I just need ten that I really really love (or maybe twenty :D ).

It is time to build a super-efficient wardrobe. And you know what that means. SHOPPING!!! The first step to my resolve is acquiring the perfect cardigan, this magical oversized Wildfox one which I feel was made for me and only me.
