I love this very Hitchcock-ian spread by photographer Alex Prager for W. Styled by Caroline Tate Angel and featuring Irina Lazareanu.

This is so rad! Popular movies as defined by their trademark costume props. My favorites are American Psycho and Shaun of the Dead, which is yours?

When I was younger, I thought Wanda from Cry Baby was the epitome of cool. The movie came out the year I was born, which might have something to do with my obsession with John Waters, leather jackets and baby doll bangs. I idolized Wanda’s mountains of blonde hair and retro winged liner. Oh to be a babe in Johnny Depp’s posse…Oh and she wore “hysterectomy pants” and played the triangle in their band. I KNOW, right? What a badass.

Today I was a mime.
“Louder Than Words” Slate

Rocking the ubiquitous creeper shoes and my favorite Boutique Onze dress for the occasion.

That guy is totally judging me.

Over-the-shoulder POV shot…

Why have I not heard of this film Rage by Sally Potter? It has Judi Dench saying “Fashion isn’t art, fashion is pornography…”. I am intrigued. Click play for the full trailer.

That’s my hand on the slate, in the MOS position. MOS means “mit out sound” in film, meaning “with out sound”, but it should be noted that while this production was MOS it was not MON (mit out nail-polish).

This week’s fashion icon is Slevin Kelevra (played by Josh Hartnett) in Lucky Number Slevin (Paul McGuigan, 2006). Even though the man spends a lot of his screen time wearing nothing but a flowery purple towel (hey, I can’t complain), he knows how to rock a sweater vest. I love the nerd-chic look of the academic dress shirts paired with clashing argyle sweater vests and a touch of business with the jackets and ties…the prints are crazier than the wallpaper in this movie.
Slevin teaches us not to be a afraid to mix prints and rock a black eye every once in a while : )

This week’s style inspiration comes from Ruby Rhod! Ruby saves the world in style in The Fifth Element, fighting aliens and opening mystic stones with perfectly applied ruby-red lipstick and fabulous shoes. There is no such thing as too much with Ruby Rhod; his signature silhouette is the skin-tight body suit with wide, structured open shoulders. He rocks ridiculous hair shapes and tranny-glam jewelry, and his most vital accessory: the almost uni-brow, which serves as a fatal weapon of seduction to hot flight attendants everywhere. Throw in a jeweled pimp cane/microphone and a groveling entourage and you are good to go!

This weeks style icon is Audrey Tautou in Hors De Prix, because she can wear Chanel like no one else, makes absurdly expensive clothing look effortless and paper umbrellas look fabulous and pricey.
